What Hospital-Based Sedation Involves

Operating Room Setting — treatment takes place in a hospital operating room with monitoring equipment and support staff on hand.
Close Supervision — the child's vital signs are watched throughout the procedure to help ensure safety and comfort.

When It May Be Considered

Extensive Treatment Needs — children requiring multiple procedures or more involved dental work in one visit.
Medical or Behavioral Factors — children who, due to age, anxiety, or health history, cannot safely or comfortably complete treatment while awake.

For children with mild anxiety or shorter procedures, Nitrous Oxide Sedation is also available on-site to help them stay calm and comfortable during treatment, offering a lighter alternative before hospital-based sedation is considered.
